How To Print Your New Printables

You just ordered some printables; however, when you went to print them, they didn't print correctly, or maybe you became confused. That's okay! Most of my printables come in an A4, A5, or A6 size which does not fit perfectly onto printer paper. Here in this brief tutorial, I will be helping you print your new printables step by step.

Accessing Your Printables

The first step in this process is accessing your printables. If you have not yet downloaded your new printables, then you want to start here. However, if you've got your downloads you can skip this step!

Something important to note is that some of our printables, cannot be downloaded via mobile due to the file size or type (zip files). For this reason, I recommend accessing and printing from your computer or at a print shop.

Here are some ways to access your downloads:

1. For Etsy Orders

If you processed your order on Etsy and not elizabethjournals.com, then your downloads can be accessed via Etsy. Read more about accessing downloads via  Etsy.

2. On the Checkout Page

After you've completed your order, the page with reload and you will be able to download all of the contents of your order so long as payment went through successfully.

You will want to click on the "View Your Order" button which will bring you to the order confirmation page shown previously which will have "Download Now" buttons for each digital item.

4. Downloads Email

In addition to your order confirmation email, if you made a digital purchase, you will receive another email which will have download links to each digital item you've purchases. We recommend you save this email in case you ever lose your download! That email will look something like this:

Understanding Page Sizes

My most common printable sizes are A6, A5, A4, and Letter. Understanding these sizes can help you print your new planner pages from home! Refer to the visual below for help! Essentially, A5 is half A4 and A6 is half A5. Likewise, half-letter is half of the letter size.
  • A4 - 11.7 x 8.3 inches 210 x 297 mm 2480 x 3508 pixels
  • A5 - 5.8 x 8.3 inches 148 x 210 mm 1748 x 2480 pixels
  • A6 - 4.1 x 5.8 inches 105 x 148 mm 1240 x 1748 pixels
  • Letter - 8.5 x 11.0 inches 216 x 279 mm 2550 x 3300 pixels
  • Half-Letter - 4.25 x 5.5.0 inches 108 x 139.5 mm 1225 x 1650 pixels

How to Print A6 PDF on Letter Paper

A large majority of you are probably trying to figure out how to print your new PDF document from home on a regular printer paper. If this is you, then follow the tutorial.

1. Open the file

First, you need to open the file you've downloaded. In order to open your product, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader, but don't worry, you can get this program for free if you do not already have it. Get Adobe Acrobat Reader FREE Once you downloaded Adobe, open your product in Adobe Reader.

2. File > Print

Next, click on "FIle" in the upper left corner and go down to "Print." This should open up printing settings.

3. Print settings

Now that you are in the settings, you will want to be sure that you have them set up completely. First, be sure that you have the right printer selected. Then, choose what pages you want to be printed or leave it be to print them all. Next, under "Page Sizing & Handling" choose the "Multiple" button. Make sure the "pages per sheet" is set to 4 as shown in the image below. You also want to be sure that you have chosen "Horizontal for the page order and "Portrait" for the orientation.

4. Print

Once your settings are set correctly, all you need to do is print. You might notice that there are larger margins than you thought. This is because letter sizes are different than A-series sizes. You can either trim the page to A6 or utilize the page in quarter-letter size. If you print any larger than the purchased size, the quality of your print will decrease.
