Here is a breakdown of Marks three yellow, gray, and black custom bullet journal inspired planners. Mark’s notebooks were created in black A5 size notebooks. The first notebook includes a title page, index, the year at a glance, 2018 goals, monthly calendar, weekly layout, and monthly notes. The second notebook includes various software-related things. Finally, the third notebook features yellow and gray layouts including a title page, goals page, books to read, monthly calendar, weekly layout, and monthly notes.
Notebook 1: 2018
Title Page: In a simple print font I wrote “Mark Malkowski,” then underneath a simple line I wrote “2018.”
Index: I used a very basic index layout here. I wrote the months and main pages in an all-caps font, then indicated sub-layouts by indenting them.
Year at a Glance: This year at a glance features 12 months, January 2018 through December 2018, in a calendar format. This is on one page in two columns. The titles are stamped onto the page.
2018 Goals: This is a blank goals page with a simple all-caps print font title.
Monthly Calendar: I used a simple grid calendar and simple print fonts. This calendar has a column on the right side for notes or goals.
Weekly Grid: This is a simple 8-square grid. Further, all lettering is in a simple print font.
Monthly Notes: Each month had a page or two for notes. These pages had “notes” in the top right corner in a simple print font. Then, there is a line that was drawn to the far left side of the pages.
Notebook 2: Software Notebook
Title Page: This title page features a technology theme with a hardware-style detailing and in the center it reads “software notebook.”
Other Layouts: I did not photograph the remainder of the notebook. However, all other layouts feature all-caps print titles and no other details.
Notebook 3: 2019
Title Page: Gray watercolor title page. In a calligraphy font I wrote “Mark,” then on the second line “2018 Planner” is in an all-caps print font.
2019 Goals: This is a blank goals page with a simple all-caps print font title.
Books to Read: This page is a simple bookshelf with a yellow calligraphy style header.
Monthly Calendar: I used a simple grid calendar and simple print fonts. This calendar has a column on the right side for notes or goals. Headers are highlighted using Tombow #993.
Weekly Columns: This page features 7 columns for 7 days of the week. There is assorted washi tape in black and white bordering the rightmost column. Below the rightmost two columns is an additional section. The main titling is in print font. Then, the weekday titling is in Tombow #993 and is just the first letter with a subscript for the date.
Monthly Notes: Each month had a page or two for notes. These pages have “notes” in the top right and left corners in a simple print font. Additionally, there is a line between the headers.
