You just ordered some printables; however, when you went to print them, they didn’t print correctly, or maybe you became confused. That’s okay! Most of my printables come in an A5 size which does not fit perfectly onto printer paper. Here in this brief tutorial, I will be helping you print your new printables step by step.
Accessing Your Printables
The first step in this process is accessing your printables. If you have not yet downloaded your new printables, then you want to start here. Something important to note is that most, if not all, of these printables, cannot be downloaded via mobile due to the file size or type. For this reason, I recommend accessing and printing from your computer or at a print shop.
1. Log-In to your Account
First, you need to be sure you have logged into the account you ordered from. In order to log in go to “My Account” and then log in using the correct credentials.
If you need to recover your password, you can do so by clicking “Lost your password?”
If you ordered as a guest or with the wrong account, shoot me an email including your order number and the email you would like it to be connected to.
2. Go to “Downloads”
Next, you will see a column of tabs on the right side of the page. Click on the tab labeled “Downloads.”
3. Download Your File(s)
Here you will see a list of the printables you have purchased as some information regarding your orders. Next to each download is a purple or red button. Click on that button to initiate your download. Some of these downloads will automatically begin downloading, some may open up a google drive file.
4.a. Save to your Computer
If the file began to automatically download, then simply save the file to your computer. Be sure you save it somewhere you can find it later and under a name that makes sense to you.
4.b. Saving Via Google Drive
In order to increase loading times on my website, some of my larger products are accessed via Google Drive. In this case, your printable may direct you to a Drive Document, PDF, or Image. Either way, you should see a download icon in the upper-righthand corner.
Click on this icon to print off your product. You can now save the file to your computer. Be sure you save it somewhere you can find it later and under a name that makes sense to you.
How to Print A5 PDF From Home
A large majority of you are probably trying to figure out how to print your new PDF document from home on regular printer paper. If this is you, then follow the tutorial.
1. Open the File
First, you need to open the file you’ve downloaded. In order to open your product, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader, but don’t worry, you can get this program for free if you do not already have it.
Once you downloaded Adobe, open your product in Adobe Reader.
2. File > Print
Next, click on “FIle” in the upper left corner and go down to “Print.” This should open up printing settings.
3. Printing Settings
Now that you are in the settings, you will want to be sure that you have them set up completely. First, be sure that you have the right printer selected. Then, choose what pages you want to be printed or leave it be to print them all.
Next, under “Page Sizing & Handling” choose the “Multiple” button. Make sure the ratio is 2 by 1 as shown in the image below. You also want to be sure that you have chosen “Landscape.”
Once your settings are set correctly, all you need to do is print.
You might notice that there are larger margins than you thought. This is because half-letter size is different than A5 size. You can either trim the page to A5 or utilize the page in half-letter size. If you print any larger than A5, the quality of your print will decrease.
Do you still have more questions? Shoot me an email and I will get back with you as soon as I am able to!
