Set And Achieve Your Goals With Bullet Journaling

It's a good idea to have a Bullet Journal, an incredibly useful tool that could be an integral part of your achieving your goals by 2023! Like any other tool, it's good to have a set of guidelines. I'm here today to give strategies for setting objectives and then provide you with the Bullet Journal tips that helped me reach my goals.

Step 1: Create A List

It's time to make a list! Making a goal recorder has become one of my favorite methods to organize my thoughts. I prefer to begin in December and then start to compile an inventory of my goals, large or small. Anything I'd like to achieve during the year will be in the bucket. Don't be too concerned about organizing.

The moment you write your ideas down will be the initial step to creating your plan and jotting down anything that pops into your mind. The list I have is slightly stylized; however, as long as you can put all your goals in one spot, the presentation could be as brief or as thorough as you'd like.

Step 2: Prioritize Your Goals

The next step is reviewing your goals and listing your top priorities. Spend some time considering your current situation and what you'd like to accomplish, and the most important thing is what makes you feel happy. There are some goals that may seem to pop up in your mind!

Think about whether or not the goal is achievable. Is your progress measurable? Do your goals need to be combined or used as a means to reach the larger target? All of these aspects should aid in narrowing your list to the most priorities. In this guide, I have prioritized four objectives for each year. However, you can choose as many or as few as you believe you can achieve in the available time!

This (like the others) is an ESSENTIAL step to successfully achieving your goals!

Step 3: Break It Down

When you've got your goals in order and broken down, you can break them into smaller, simpler goals. Consider the short-term when selecting these. If, for instance, you're aiming to become an obstetrician, a short-term target could be to submit to Med School or to keep the same GPA during the duration of the school year. I recommend breaking each long-term goal down into five short-term goals, but you can choose as small or as many as you want!

Step 4: Outline It All

Now is the time to pull out your drawing pen to arrange your goals into a visually appealing chart that will help you stay motivated to achieve your goals throughout the year! First, I create long rectangular boxes and divide them into three sections. The first section is where you label your goals. There are four things I want to accomplish, and I've marked the boxes from one to four. The next section will be on your goals for the long term. They are to be placed in the order they're prioritized. The third section is where you can write down your goals for the near future. Below this chart, be sure to leave space to write notes! Your thoughts can be organized together, and you'll be able to be aware of what's effective in achieving your objectives and what's not.

Step 5: Create a Progression Tracker

After you've made your chart that lists your short-term and long-term goals for the coming week, month, or year, you'll need to design a system for monitoring. There are plenty of innovative ways to track your performance. Some track progress with sketches and a key, while others use the Level 10 Lifestyle pie chart. However, to track my goals, I chose to use a simple bar graph that is divided into five sections. Each section is the short-term goal you need to meet. When the bar is completed, your long-term objective will be completed!

Step 6: Color Coordination

If you decide to keep track of your progress toward achieving your goals, the most important thing is to ensure that you align your tracker with the objectives on your first sheet. Here's where the colors can be of help! Color your goals in conjunction with the progress monitor to ensure that you organize everything to stay on the right track.

Step 7: Treat Yourself!

The final step in making your goals visible is to develop an incentive system. To track my goals, I designed a small box that is symmetrical to my notes box, where I keep track of the things that make me feel proud! Make sure to record every single thing. Even seemingly minor accomplishments can be satisfying to reflect on. Make sure the reward you choose for your short-term goals will not interfere with your long-term objectives. For instance, if you intend to save $100 per month, you shouldn't reward yourself with an expensive item. That's it! You're now ready to begin writing any goal you have set for the coming week, month, or even the entire year. I hope that this guide has encouraged you to be inventive when it comes to achieving your targets.
